Mamelodi Baptist Church (MBC)

The MBC is a church that is rooted in the community that surrounds it. This has been borne out by the appreciable growth in the size of attendance at church services and the number of people that are visiting the church and who continue their association with it. However, it has also become clear that the church has to seek to ensure that the growth is consistent and sustainable going into the future, and that such growth is accompanied by conversion of visitors to church members and the retention of the latter. In addition, there has to be a commensurate approach to mobilization and deployment of resources (human, financial and physical) towards structured and coordinated realization of church aims and objectives. In so doing, it is key to achieve proper alignment of the efforts and activities of the different components and structures of the church towards a common vision and along a common set of strategic and operational goals and objectives.

Central Organizing Principle

The MBC has set itself the vision of making all nations disciples for Christ and has the mission of empowering its members and the broader community to live a Christ-like life by obeying all that he has commanded. This will be achieved through adoption of a central tenet of each church member following a spiritual journey that enables them to (i) connect to God through prayer and the study of the Word, (ii) reach across to other church members in the church family, building community relationships, improving structure and being involved in the life of the church, as well as (iii) reaching out to the community and making a difference in the lives of those in need while inviting community members to the fellowship of the family of Christ. This is the central organizing principle, vision and theme around which the life of the church and its operations will be marshalled and contextualized.
